ANGELES CITY – “Ini na pu ing tune “Bayung Angeles! An Angeles which is far better than when my grandfather and father first began their services.”
This is what Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. put emphasis on in his 2nd State of the City Address when he announced the groundbreaking ceremony for the P684-million infrastructure development at the Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center (RLMMC) and City College of Angeles (CCA) in August, which will deliver easier access to public health services and educational development.
Of this P684 million is the P474 million 8-storey building to be built at RLMMC, and the P210 million additional building and classrooms in CCA.
In addition, a total amount of P100 million was allotted for the purchase of medical equipment to the new hospital building in RLMMC.
As two of the main cornerstones of his administration, Lazatin, just like his father Cong. Carmelo “Tarzan” Lazatin, will continue to push programs that will cater to the health and welfare of the people.
“These two mentioned projects are among our promised infrastructure supports to health and education,” he said.
Further, among the recent infrastructure and development programs in the city since Mayor Lazatin took office are the road widening and construction of the Pulung Cacutud Bridge and P150-million EPZA Diversion Road.
INFRA PROGRAMS WITH CONG. JON
Apart from the mentioned projects, Mayor Lazatin also shared the hand-in-hand work with his brother First District Rep. Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II who agreed to help his leadership by pouring in budget for local infrastructure such as the P50 million for various road projects; P49.6 million for various drainage projects; P25 million for slope protection; and P68.35 million for multi-purpose building.
“While my administration has exhausted all city’s resources to aid Angeleños during the pandemic, this is the golden era as far as public service is concerned,” Mayor Lazatin reiterated.
“Mga minamahal kong Angeleños, ito po ang nagagawa dahil ang inyong Mayor at Kongresista ay hindi lamang magkapatid kundi magkatuwang para mapa unlad ang ating syudad,” he added.
He also mentioned the projects lobbied by his brother for the city’s infrastructure development including the ongoing construction of the P138 million Abacan road dikes and bypass roads from Barangay Pandan to Friendship Bridge; P30 million Malabanias Bridge; and the four-lane Cutcut Flyover, amounting to P500 million with help of Senator Lito Lapid.
Cong. Jon is also lobbying for the construction of the Sto. Cristo Flyover worth P500 million, Lazatin says.
SUPPORT OF CITY COUNCIL
Meanwhile, Lazatin then cited the support of Vice Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting and city council members Atty. Arvin “Pogs” Suller, Dr. Alfie Bonifacio, Jesus “Jay” Sangil, JC Parker-Aguas, PG Ponce, Marino “Niknok” Banola, Dan Lacson, Raco Del Rosario, Jeremias Alejandrino, and Arnoah Mandani in approving the Supplemental Budget no. 1 he filed in which the soon-to-rise projects in RLMMC and CCA were funded.
“Kay Vice Mayor Vega at miyembro ng konsehong ito, sisiguraduhin ko na hindi makakalimutan ng mga Angelenos ang ginawa ninyong pagseguro sa kanilang kalusugan at kinabukasan ng kanilang mga anak,” he said.
“Maraming salamat sa inyo dahil kasama ko po kayo sa pag unlad ng siyudad.”
