Pampanga pays tribute to late Provincial Health Chief

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Governor Dennis Pineda and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan honored former Provincial Health Office (PHO) head Marcelo Jaochico for his substantial and invaluable contributions to Pampanga.

In Resolution No. 6109, series of 2020 passed by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, the provincial government expressed its sympathy for the loss of the bereaved family of Jaochico who died on March 24 after being inflicted with COVID-19. He was 56 years old.

“The province of Pampanga under the leadership of Governor Pineda joins the Jaochico family of the untimely demise of their father whose death is a great loss not only to them but also to the people of Pampanga” the resolution stated.

Moreover, the Sangguniang also conferred Jaochico with a posthumous recognition through Resolution No. 6110, series of 2020 to highlight his selfless service and devotion as Pampanga’s health chief for eight years since he assumed office in 2012.

Jaochico’s son Carl Angel and wife Rose Anne received the plaques and expressed gratitude for the recognition.

The former PHO chief has been a beacon of hope for many in providing quality healthcare services for the people in the country.

Jaochico had selflessly devoted his profession as a government doctor to the barrios in Calansan, Apayao for 16 years.

He served the community with scarce resources to battle different outbreaks such as Dengue, Malaria, Measles, and Cholera.

Pineda said Jaochico’s unparalleled service and legacy will remain and be remembered in the hearts of every Kapampangan.
