City of San Fernando — Some 23,121 Kabalens benefited from the Responsible Parenthood and Family Planning Seminars conducted by the Provincial Population Office (PPO) in various towns and cities of the province.
The PPO’s Gender and Development (GAD) program provided a total amount of P756,245 for the conduct of pre-marriage counselling attended by 16, 422 couples; responsible parenting – 3,550 married couples; family development sessions – 1,942 attendees–;KATROPA – 400 and referrals – 807.
According to PPO IV Rustica Butiu, population program workers (PPW) are deployed to all Local Government Units (LGUs) in the province to assist the LGU in conducting Pre- marriage counselling, Responsible Parenthood, Family Planning, Adolescent Health and Development (AHD) and other activities.
For the PPO’s Adolescent Health and Development (AHD) program, they conducted Youth Fora/Symposia Youth for youth (U4U) attended by 1,150 participants; Learning Package for Parent Education (LPPED) with a budget of P100,00 and Capability Building and Leadership Training participated in by some 882 individuals with a total cost of P180,000.
The PPO also conducted Orientations on Responsible Parenthood, Responsible Parenting Movement participated in by a total of 150 attendees. –Aida B. Bungue/PIO
