The youth today exemplifies courage and dedication as evident in their efforts to serve during this public health crisis due to the coronavirus disease (COVID 19).
Members and officials of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) in Pampanga, led by their Federation President Moshe Lacson, send non-food and food assistance to indigent constituents in their respective barangays.
In this trying time, Lacson encourages his SK members and officials to join the provincial and local government’s drive against the spread of the COVID 19, where he also reiterated the directive of Governor Dennis ‘Delta’ Pineda and Vice Governor Lilia ‘Nanay’ Pineda to enforce precautionary measures at the ground level especially to coordinate with the youth for massive awareness drive regarding the said disease.
Lacson is also appealing to his fellow SK council to properly use their budget and resources in providing assistance to their kabalens.
“As early as now, I already commend each and every person in the SK council because of their outmost dedication and compassion for our people. It is through people like them can we achieve a positive and radical change in our society,” he said.
To date, they are continuously visiting remote areas to extend help to poorest of the poor families by providing emergency food packs, hygiene kits, face masks, and alcohol
The SK Federation President also stressed the importance of practicing social distancing.
As defined by the Department of Health (DOH), social distancing means staying away from others for at least a meter distance, and avoid any physical contact.
In fact, residents were instructed to put a chair in front of their homes where the food assistance will be placed.
“Let us stop the culture of ‘sana all’ where we constantly compare our government officials’ response in this public health emergency. Instead, let us do our part and pray for everyone’s safety,” said Lacson.
He further reminded his fellow SK officials to take care and remain healthy amid the health crisis.
“Please take care of yourselves. We cannot serve our constituents if we cannot take care of ourselves. Milabas mu rin ini,” he added.
