Pampanga-Tarlac Energy Press Corps tap information officers vs.fake news

Pampanga-Tarlac Energy Press Corps in partnership with National Grid Corporation of the Philippines conducted a training course on Basic Journalism and Digital Communications which highlighted the role of electric cooperative information officers in communication technology, on Monday at Park Inn by Raddison Clark, Angeles City, Pampanga.


PTEPC President Jay Pelayo IV said the refresher training is aimed at promoting factual information dissemination. This, in a bid to get rid of fake news in various social networking websites and to connect and guide netizens in dealing with unvalidated information.

Trixie Manalili, information center manager of Philippine Information Agency- Tarlac, elaborated the basics of journalism and guidelines in writing editorial, news, feature and column articles.

On information education campaign, PIA Bataan Information Sector Manager Jose Mari Garcia expounded the role of electric cooperatives in delivering fast, creative and reliable info thru social media revolution.

” You can be fast and creative, but the most crucial part is how to be reliable source of information,” Garcia emphasized.
