SCTEX, Tarlac – Café Amazon, the most popular coffee brand in Thailand will soon be opened in Bataan.
This was confirmed by businessman and former Bataan Congressman Felicito “Tong” Payumo during the formal opening of the biggest gas and service station of PTT Philippines at the SCTEX in Concepcion town here.
Also a known environmentalist and the man behind Sinagtala Farm Resort and Adventure Park in Orani, Bataan, Payumo said he will first open Café Amazon branch in his hometown, Dinalupihan. After that, four branches or more will be opened in neighboring towns including the City of Balanga.
“We will also open a branch in Hermosa beside the Nissan Bataan, where Northwalk Bataan will be built,” Payumo added.
Payumo, also the former Chairman and Administrator of SBMA, has partnered with businessman Atty. Federico Pascual and developer Romy Siccion for various business developments in Bataan including the Bataan Campus of the University of Nueva Caceres, also in Dinalupihan town.
Last year, PTT Philippines, a subsidiary of Thailand’s largest gas and energy company PTT Public Company Limited, has opened the local franchising for its coffee shop chain Café Amazon after getting the nod from its parent company.
Launched in 2002 in Thailand by the PTT Group, Café Amazon was initially aimed at providing complete experience to customers of PTT stations. It eventually branched out to other areas and countries like Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Japan, and recently, the Philippines.
Adopting the “Taste of Nature” concept to provide an atmosphere like green oasis, Café Amazon now has more than 1,700 stores in six countries, including its first store in the Philippines located at PTT SCTEX station in Concepcion, Tarlac which was formally inaugurated last Tuesday February 13.
“This is not your typical coffee shop. It provides a different kind of taste and experience. It makes you feel closer to mother nature,” Payumo told newsmen who covered the event.
