PCCI prexy sees robust economy

ANGELES CITY – The business sector is reaping the “benefits of the reforms and programs” put in place by the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte, according to Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) President Alegria Sibal Limjoco.

Limjoco, who keynoted the induction of new officials of the Metro Angeles Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MACCI) on Wednesday at Oasis Hotel, said “2019 is indeed a very exciting year.”

Limjoco zeroed in on the key growth areas of Subic Bay Freeport and Clark Freeport Zone, where hundreds of local and foreign investors continue to infuse billions worth of investments generating jobs and livelihood.

“More specifically for Luzon, we are seeing through a transformation in areas of infrastructure and economic development investments and locators come to Clark, Subic and other key growth areas of Northern and Central Luzon,” said Limjoco.

The Clark International Airport serves as the jewel of the Clark Freeport Zone while Subic has its deep-sea port.

Limjoco said the implementation and acceleration of the government’s “Build-Build-Build” infrastructure programs coupled with the growing trade partnerships and the emerging growth of digital infrastructure and technology are expected to drive our economic growth for the year.

“Opportunities for the micro, small and medium enterprises, the backbone of our economy, are also high with the expected resurgence of our tourism and construction industries,” said Limjoco.

For this year, Limjoco said the chamber “will continue to strategically drive public-private investments, expanding the asset base for the domestic economy and equipping Philippine MSMEs in agriculture, manufacturing and services sectors to become global winners, conduits of competitive value and supply chains and champions of decent jobs and environmental sustainability that have lasting multiplier effects on the economy.”
