PDEA, NAIA-IADITG confiscate marijuana, ecstasy tablets in Pasay

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Group (NAIA- IADITG) intercepted three packages containing suspected cannabis and ecstacy tablets in a cargo warehouse in Pasay City on January 16, 2019.

PDEA Director General Aaron N. Aquino said the PDEA Regional Office National Capital Region-Airport Interdiction Unit (PDEA RO NCR-AIU) and NAIA-IADITG conducted parcel profiling and K9 sweeping operation in a cargo warehouse inside NAIA Complex, Andrews Avenue, Pasay City.

The narcotic detection dog (NDD), or K9, alarmed the team on the presence of dangerous drugs on three packages which yielded 98 canisters containing droppers and bottles of suspected cannabis. The  contraband awa shipped by True Terpenes Kevin from Hayden Island Dr. Partland, OR97217, USA and consigned to Benjamin Cassiday; eight plastic bottles containing 1,440 soft gels of suspected cannabis, shipped by Piping Rock from 2120 Smithtown Avenue, Ronkonkoma, NY11770, USA, and consigned to Ricardo Jocson; and 5,207 tablets of suspected methylenedioxy-methamphetamine (MDMA), or popularly known as ecstasy, a party drug, shipped by Forward @me LTD.  The ecstacy tablets have an estimated value of P8,851,900.00, while value of the suspected cannabis in bottles and in soft gel form are still being determined.

The identity of the shippers and consignees indicated in the parcel are currently the subject of investigation and validation.
