CAMILING, Tarlac — Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), in partnership with the municipal government of Camiling, conducted a reorientation on Drug Clearing Operations for Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils.
“The reorientation of barangays about Drug Clearing Operations is part of the continuing response to the national government’s thrust to eradicate drugs in the country,” PDEA Tarlac Provincial Officer Sharon I. Ominga said.
“Through this activity, every barangay is invited to take an active participation in working hand-in-hand to achieve a drug-free community,” she added.
Topics discussed include status of drugs in the country, types of drugs and their ill-effects, and processes that barangays have to undergo to attain drug-cleared status.
“We hope that barangays will continue in the preparation of documentary requirements for drug clearing and that more communities will be declared drug cleared after this activity,” Ominga stressed.
For his part, Mayor Erlon Agustin stressed the role of barangays in eradicating drugs in the community and in achieving a drug-free municipality.
He also urged Punong Barangays to actively participate and work with them and other government agencies in realizing the goal to become a drug-free municipality.
