NEW CLARK CITY, Tarlac — Philippine General Hospital (PGH) extended its health care services from basic operating to complex emergency operations for athletes competing in the 30th South East Asian Games (SEA Games) and eventually to the community within and nearby New Clark City (NCC).
“During the SEA Games, PGH Polyclinic will be equipped with a 24-hour Emergency Room Facility, Primary Care and Sports Medicine, Dentistry, Ophthalmology, Imaging Center (X-ray and Ultrasound), Diagnostic Laboratory and Pharmacy,” University of the Philippines-PGH Director Gerardo D. Legaspi disclosed.
Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) provided the equipment needed for the facility.
“We would like to assure the BCDA and the Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committeethat we will do our share in making sure that this goes on,” Legaspi added.
PGH Polyclinic is the first of three phases. The second phase is a 25-bed hospital and the third phase a 250-bed hospital. Phasing will depend on the population growth of NCC. (CLJD/GLSB-PIA 3)
