Converge ICT Solutions Founder and CEO Dennis Anthony H. Uy said the Philippines will aim for the half-gig internet speed or 500Mbps that will make the Philippines at par with Asian countries.
“The price (subscription) will increase the capacity that’s what we are going to do,” according to Uy who earlier said that around 13 million households in the Luzon Island will have access to the end-to-end fiber internet connection in the next five years.
“Anytime that household needs (an internet connection) we are there,” said Uy, now one of the promising IT mogul in the country. “Up to 2021, we will hit 7 million home pass networks with 4 million ports.”
“Tignan mo naman ang technology sa ibang bansa Singapore, Korea and Hong Kong mabilis ang internet speed ang dinideliver sa bahay,” said Uy.
“Once this (infrastructure) is deployed already the minimum speed is 100Mpbs, 300Mbps and 500Mbps so we will be at par with Asian country. “Hindi na tayo nakakahiya na we have the slowest internet in Asia. Once we have these capabilities, eto ginagawa natin ito this is state-of-the-art technology (fiber), hindi na katulad ng mabagal dati na kino-complain ng tao,” said Uy.
Currently, Converge among the offerings of Converge include: FiberX1500 – 25Mbps; FiberX 2500 – 75Mbps; and FiberX 3500 – 150Mbps. For FiberX 1500 subscribers, they can add P99 to get a 35Mbps fiber connection.
Uy said the expansion of Converge ICT Solutions in the Luzon Island will be finished this year. On Thursday afternoon, Uy took delivery of 445 vehicles, all of which will be utilized in its Luzon operations.
“We will use 600 vehicles in Manila alone plus another 400 vehicles from contractors,” said Uy.
“Yung mga vehicles nayan partial pa lang yan. In the light of the expansion ang laki ng demand diyan kasi ang laki ng area na kino cover natin. Metro Manila alone, we need at least 600 vehicles, may 400 pa kami sa mga contractors. Imagine isang libo na ang sasakyan naming na tumatakbo na sa Metro Manila.”
