PH, US airlift 6,300 food packs

BATANES, Philippines – The Philippine Air Force (PAF) and U.S. military forces wrapped up a weeklong relief mission in Batanes with the airlift of 1,500 more family food packs on August 3, bringing the total to 6,300 distributed to typhoon-affected communities.

Two CV-22 Osprey aircraft from the U.S. Air Force and two MV-22s from the U.S. Marine Corps carried the final delivery from Clark Air Base to Basco, supported by Philippine Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force personnel.

The operation, led by the Office of Civil Defense, highlighted the strong PH–US disaster response partnership, with joint airlift operations overcoming rough terrain and bad weather to reach geographically isolated communities in Northern Luzon.
