LAUR, Nueva Ecija — The Philippines’ first world-class residential treatment facility opened Wednesday in barangay San Juan, Laur.
President Rodrigo R. Duterte led the inauguration of Moscati Meadows Residential Treatment Facilities which seeks to achieve the full rehabilitation of the individual through motivational interviewing, group therapy, one-on-one individual counseling, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialetic therap, treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder and trauma.
Moscati Meadows Founder and Addictionologist Sarah Joy Ruiz-Molleston said the residential rehabilitation, which can accommodate up to 50 patients, offers a six-month holistic program for drug treatment, other types of addiction and all types of compulsive behavior.
“We are very positive that this residential treatment facility will be a showcase to the world. We plan to adhere to international standards so that we can move the Philippines on the map when it comes to drug addiction treatment,” she stressed.
With the drug problem in the country, Molleston expressed her willingness to help the President in his priority program which is the war against illegal drugs.
“Three years ago when President Duterte became the President, I was given the opportunity to consult and help. Shortly after, we decided that we wanted to help the country in a more concrete way by setting up a model residential in-patient drug treatment program,” she furthered.
Moscati Meadows provides tools for vocational rehabilitation and access to certified online courses, leading up to becoming eventual drug and alcohol counselors in the field, local or overseas.
Services offered include detoxification, intensive inpatient treatment, family therapy, mental health and psychiatric services, drug court services and employee assistance programs, and vocational rehabilitation and online academic courses.
Moscati Meadows was named after Italian physician saint Giuseppe Moscati was known as “Doctor to the Poor.”
