LAUR, Nueva Ecija — President Rodrigo R. Duterte announced Wednesday that he will place parts of Laur under land reform.
During the Inauguration of the Moscati Meadows Residential Treatment Facilities, he was able to talk to some residents of Laur wherein they stated land and water as primary problems in the area.
“At this time of our national life, I would even say that I’ve been telling the military and the police that unless we solve this age-old problem of getting the lands to the people, we can never end the insurgency problem in this country,” he said.
Duterte underscored that some revolutions, motivated by territoriality like Al-Haj Murad Ebrahim and Nur Misuari, are dedicated to the destruction of mankind.
With this, he emphasized that he is keen on distributing lands to the people to protect them from communist rebels.
Duterte cited his declaration of land reform behind the shores of Boracay.
“Everybody was interested to occupy Boracay’s vast agricultural land to build subdivision, buildings, chalets, bungalow and others. But I gave it all to the Ati natives alone,” he stated.
Aside from this, the President disclosed that a total of 60,000 land titles were recently awarded in Maguindanao.
