Pinedas retain top posts in Pampanga Capitol

The Pineda mother and son tandem will both serve their second consecutive term in office after their re-election to the top posts in the provincial government of Pampanga.

Garnering 668,757 votes, incumbent Governor Dennis Pineda won the gubernatorial race against his sole opponent, former Candaba Mayor Danilo Baylon.

“I feel grateful that Kapampangans continue to support me during the campaign period until the day of the elections. Of course, I am happy and overwhelmed. As I say, it is still God’s will,” the younger Pineda said.

Meanwhile, incumbent Vice Governor Lilia Pineda, who is unopposed for the vice gubernatorial post, garnered a total of 895,160 votes.

“I am happy with your continuous trust because even though I’m already a senior, I can still work, I can still serve my fellow Kapampangans,” the older Pineda said.

Meanwhile, two female ex-legislators make a comeback to serve fresh terms in the House of Representatives.

Former President and House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo was proclaimed as second district representative while Anna York Bondoc returns as fourth district representative.

Arroyo served three terms in Congress until 2019, while Bondoc served three terms until 2013.

Moreover, first district representative Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin and third district representative Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales Jr. will serve their third and last term in Congress.
