PNP asks public to avoid non-essential travels this holiday season

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – Philippine National Police appealed to the public to avoid non-essential travels this holiday season even if restrictions are eased in time for the holiday season.

“We appeal to the public that if there is no need for you to go out to buy basic needs, please stay at home and avoid non-essential travels. We are asking for your full cooperation, to help save lives and contain the spread of COVID-19. Staying at home will protect you both from the virus and criminal elements who are waiting for their opportunity to prey on innocent victims,” Police Regional Director PBGen. Valeriano De Leon said.

Relative to this, De Leon and his team has started to personally inspect commercial establishments, terminals and other places of public convergence to observe the strict implementation of the health protocols.

“We will intensify police visibility and police presence as more areas are now relegated and more people are allowed to go out,” he said.

Increased presence of police personnel includes the implementation of Oplan Bandillo for community awareness and information dissemination that aims to prevent lawless elements in carrying out their nefarious activities and at the same time to ensure strict implementation of minimum health protocols such as wearing of face mask and face shield and observance of physical distancing.
