PNP intensifies anti-illegal drug campaign in Bataan

BALANGA CITY — Philippine National Police (PNP) stressed its strong determination to combat crimes in Bataan by further intensifying its anti-illegal drug campaign.

During the recent Assessment on Anti-illegal Drugs Campaign, PNP Provincial Director Senior Supt.Marcelo Dayag said the impact of President Rodrigo Duterte’s war on drugs campaign has brought changes in reducing criminality in the country.

“There were 219 barangays or 92.4 percent of barangays in the province affected by illegal drugs but thanks to former PNP Chief Ronald dela Rosa, our problems with the rampant illegal drug use decreased,” he said.

“We have conducted a total of 9,088 house visits and 1,305 anti-illegal drug operations in the province from July 2016 to December 2018,” Dayag furthered.

He enumerated their best practices such as the Bahay Pagbabago Reformation Program, multi-sectoral initiatives, police relationship with the community, and other activities which strengthen the campaign.

For his part, Dela Rosa commended the province for supporting the administration’s campaign on war on drugs and stressed the importance of peace and order for local development.

“Let us all support the programs of the PNP and President Duterte because he is the only president who is serious in fighting illegal drugs, criminality and corruption,” he said.
