Pregnant women, cancer patients get aid in Sta. Rita

Santa Rita—Second District Board Member Mylyb Pineda-Cayabyab distributed goods, vitamins and financial assistance to vulnerable sectors of the community here who have yet to receive assistance from government amid the on going pandemic.

Pineda-Cayabyab made true with her promise to help pregnant women and cancer patients as he visited two distribution centers here yesterday.  Pineda-Cayabyab visited Barangays San Jose and Diladila.  Pineda Cayabyab had earlier met with leaders of Nanay Community Workers (NCW) to consolidate lists of people from various sectors needing assistance.

The lady provincial legislator distributed food packs as well as vitamins good for three weeks.  She said that she aims to assure vulnerable sectors that the government of the province is one with them in their needs and concerns.

The distribution was also an opportunity for the board member to meet local residents and hear their concerns.

“We hope to reach people who have yet to receive anything amid this ongoing pandemic. It is a statement of assurance that their local government is here for them,” Pineda Cayabyab said.

Pineda-Cayabyab is also set to distribute assistance in the coming days for other sectors like persons with disabilities, transport groups and the gay and lesbian communities. Funding for the assistance will be sourced from her personal funds.
