Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital (JBLMGH) received medical supplies from World Medical Relief Asia (WMRA) to back the healthcare system’s crisis in dealing with the surging COVID-19 cases.
The hospital was given isolation clothing, clinical drapes, blood transfer device, oxygen tubings, face masks, and sterile gloves.
“Hospitals like these are the principal beneficiaries in this drive-in order to help ease burdens of both medical staff and the patients as well. This is our share to alleviate their plight,” WMRA Ambassador of Health Irineo Alvaro Jr said.
He highlighted that public hospitals are the priority beneficiaries for this cause as their medical supplies are either limited, lacking, or being bought from commercial stores by patients’ relatives.
Also, prior to this donation, JBLMGH, Diosdado P. Macapagal Memorial Hospital in Guagua, Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center in Angeles City, and Concepcion District Hospital in Tarlac received six units of mechanical ventilators from Bridges of Benevolent Initiative Foundation, Inc.
As the said charity group’s chair, Alvaro stated that the donated apparatuses are intended for patients in critical care.
Both WMRA and BBIF are charity groups geared with the common goal of helping alleviate people in dire need of medical attention.
