Abducted Filipinos in West Africa land at Clark, get police aid

Ten Filipino seafarers who were abducted at the coast of Benin in West Africa had finally arrived at the Clark International Airport in Pampanga province on Monday.

The abducted seafarers who were part of a 15-crew team aboard the tanker “Davide B” had been freed after a month by alleged pirates in the Gulf of Guinea in West Africa on March 11, 2021.

The Mabalacat City Police Station (MCPS) assisted the returning OFWs who arrived via Qatar Airways on April 19, 2021. 

PLt Catherine Maizo, of the MCPS and police personnel have also distributed relief packs to the returning OFWs consisting of 3kg of rice, noodles, sardines, and personal protective items against COVID-19 such as a  face masks, face shield, and sanitizing alcohol.
