BALANGA CITY — Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) is set to begin the registration of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) in Bataan by July 2020.
PhilSys already started last month its pilot registration in the National Capital Region for pre-determined beneficiaries of Department of Social Welfare and Development and employees of PSA.
“Next year, the pilot area for the registration in Region 3 is Pampanga then Bulacan and Nueva Ecija before Bataan by July 2020,” PSA Bataan Chief Statistical Specialist Ledesma Morante disclosed.
“The national ID shall contain a person’s PhilSys number, full name, gender, blood type, date of birth, place of birth, civil status, address and a front facing photo,” she added.
The system paved way after President Rodrigo R. Duterte signed the PhilSys Act which mandates the government to create a single official identification card for all residents and resident aliens in the Philippines. (CLJD/MJSD-PIA 3)
