Rep. Garcia leads opening of Galing Bataan Trade Fair 2018

BALANGA CITY – Bataan 2nd District Rep. Jose Enrique “Joet” Garcia III joined Balanga City Tourism Council chairwoman Raquel Garcia, DTI-Bataan chief Nelin Cabahug, and businessman Eusebio Aquino in the formal opening of the annual Galing Bataan trade fair this morning at the Plaza Mayor de Ciudad de Balanga.

Salted egg chips, toasted pastillas, roasted cashew nuts, quality shoes and bags, and more products are now available as a total of 42 local entrepreneurs joined the annual trade fair which will be opened until April 9.


Businessman Eusebio Aquino in his brief speech said he always think of Bataan Province as his inspiration in his construction ventures as he travels across the country.

Aquino was the keynote speaker in the said event. He also lauded the local government for the infrastructure developments in the province including the
Spanish-themed Balanga Plaza. Aquino is the president of EBA Construction and The Plaza Hotel.

Presidential awardee for Inspiring Filipina Entrepreneurs, Amanda Battad was the one who formally introduced the keynote speaker.

Meanwhile, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Bataan aims to surpass the P1 million sales last year of the Galing Bataan Trade Fair this year.

DTI-Bataan OIC provincial director Nelin Cabahug encouraged the public to patronize the products that range from food, household items, bags, footwear and accessories.

The trade fair, is one of the major activities for the 76th Commemoration of Araw ng Kagitingan running on a theme: “Kagitingan at Pagmamahal sa Pilipinas Para sa Tunay na Pagbabago.”

The week-long activities are being organized by the Bataan Peninsula Tourism Council Inc. headed by its Chairperson, Mrs. Victoria Sandejas-Garcia, mother of Bataan Governor Abet Garcia.
