Rob gang member killed in Bulacan shootout

CITY OF SAN JOSE DEL MONTE, Bulacan – A suspected member of a robbery-holdup gang was killed during a gun fight with police operatives who swooped down on the group’s lair in Bgy. Muzon here Thursday afternoon.

In a report to Bulacan acting police director Senior Supt. Romeo Caramat Jr., Supt. Fitz Macariola, head of the City of San Jose Del Monte police station, identified the slain gangman as a certain alias “Moymoy”.

Macariola said that prior to the shootout, a police team headed by PO3 Adrian Nolasco conducted a follow-up operation against the robbery gang members in an abandoned house at Pabahay 2000, Bgy. Muzon.

At this juncture, Macariola said the gang sensed the presence of the lawmen and one of the suspects later identied as “Moymoy” opened fire on the police team with an improvised shotgun. His three companions also drew their firearms and opened fire, prompting the police team to return fire.

A brief firefight ensued which resulted to the death of “Moymoy”, while his three companions escaped.
No casualty was reported on the side of the police team.

Macariola said puruit operations are still being conducted against the three other suspects. -Emil G. Gamos
