Roman allots P2 million for ‘Shelter for the Abused’

HERMOSA, Bataan — Bataan 1st District Representative Geraldine Roman recently visited Hermosa Sanitary Landfill Facility in Barangay Mambog to inspect a project called “Shelter for the Abused Women and Children.”

For the said project, the reelected lawmaker alloted P2 million for the construction of the said facility for the abused.

Roman, in a news briefing at her official residence in Orani town, told newsmen that she also visited an upcycling facility in the said place and donated P100,000 for a private company’s livelihood project that is part of their corporate social responsibility project or (CSR).

Roman added that plans and other details for the “shelter project” are now being finalized with the DPWH Bataan First Engineering District headed by District Engineer Erlindo “Boying” Flores.

“Though I tend to be typecast with LGBT rights, I want to assure everyone that my heart and my advocacy extend beyond the LGBT community,” says Congresswoman Roman.

Since she started her first stint in the House of Representatives, Roman has detailed her eight-point platform which stands for “EQUALITY.”

Each letter stands for different advocacies: E stands for education and the environment, Q and U for quality and universal healthcare, A for agriculture, L for livelihood, I for infrastructure, T for transparency in government, and Y for youth. –Photos from EWMC FB
