Roman justifies transfer to PDP LABAN

ORANI, Bataan — Bataan First District Representative Geraldine B. Roman on Friday justified her jumping from the Liberal Party (LP) to the ruling party, Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakad ng Bayan (PDP-Laban), saying her decision is to show full support to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

Roman also calls on all her fellow public servants to unite and help the present administration to succeed.

“I have always expressed my support to the President. He is the duly elected leader of our country. I want him to succeed. I want to contribute to his success. His failure or the failure of his administration will be the failure of the entire nation,” she told the Bataan local press in an interview at her district office in Orani town.

The neophyte lawmaker even calculated her chance of being heard by the President in a scale of 1 is to 100.

“If I am still with LP, the chance that I might be heard by the President is probably 50. And now that I am in his party, it could probably be 75 percent,” she reiterated.

Roman also said that she will not support any impeachment move against the President or even her former party mate, Vice President Leni Robredo.

“Any impeachment move will derail our work in Congress. I am calling on all public servants to put an end to politics, divisiveness. Let us unite and help this government to succeed,” Roman said.

Meanwhile, Roman assured that there are some projects but she expects it could be more because she is now in the direct line with the President.

“Now that I belong to the ruling party I can explain directly to the President my priority projects. The welfare of my province mates is very important to me,” Roman told IOrbit News. –MHIKE R. CIGARAL
