HERMOSA, Bataan — Hermosa Mayor Jopet Inton on Thursday met with Coast Guard officials namely Captain Arnaldo Lim, Philippine Coast Guard Director, LCDR Mark Mariano, PCG Commanding Officer, BRP Tubattaha (MRRV-4401) and CDR Geronimo Tuvilla regarding the updates and reports on the search and rescue mission of the fishing boat (Three Sisters) which sank at Reed Bank in Palawan last November 6, 2019.
As ordered by Bataan Governor Albert Garcia, the search operations are still ongoing for the 13 missing fishermen from Barangay Sisiman, Mariveles, Bataan.
In a report from Mariveles PNP the missing fishermen were as follows: Ronilo Epetito y Falogme, 31 years old; Bobby Gabales y Falogme, 32 years old; Cristian Gabales y Juico, 28 years old; Don don Narciso Epetito, 22 years old; Jerry Mantoring, 27 years old; Jerry I. Villaruel, 26 years old; Ariel G. Epetito, 30 years old; Frederick Falogme y Esteron, 31 years old; Jeffrey V. Abayin, 21 years old; Almar Binocan; Ruel Gueico; Joel Negrido; and, Boat Captain Lauriano Delos Santos y Galang, 59 years old.
The report stated that on October 28, 2019 at 7 p.m. the 13 fishermen proceeded to Reed Bank near Scarborough Shoal on board 3 Sister fishing vessel being driven by Captain Lauriano Delos Santos.
Last November 6, 2019 at around 3 a.m. the fishing vessel was reportedly destroyed by storm and sank with the 13 passengers onboard.
The lone survivor identified as Angelito Epetito, 29, was rescued by fishing vessel Saint Joseph in the waters of Subic, Zambales and was transferred to boat Jan-Jan back to Mariveles town.
The PCG personnel is doing aerial search Thursday and the CG ship Tubbataha went out to the sea for the same search mission.
Mayor Inton is also set to do aerial search, if the weather permits, to help with the rescue operations.
“Prayers are needed para sa ating mga kapatid na mangingisda from Mariveles!,” Mayor Inton said.
