CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Government anti-narcotics operatives dismantled on Friday a suspected illegal drugs den that reportedly earn as much as P10,000 ($200) per day during raid in a slum area at Barangay Calulut here.
Six persons including a teenager were arrested.
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) – Central Luzon director Juvenal Azurin identified the suspects as Ligorio C. Cuano, 26; Jenalyn M. Morales, 34; Ronne M. Pangilinan, 36; Clarissa C. Gaza, 20; and Cielovon A. Comomo, 28 all residents in said place.
Azurin said one of the suspects, being a minor, was placed under the custody of the social welfare office.
“Our agents have been monitoring the subject property because there were reports from concerned citizens that the place is being used as a drug den. I was informed they are earning as high as P10,000.00 on its daily operation,”Azurin added.
The raid, Azurin said was the fourth drug dens demolished in Northville community since January this year.
Recently, 10 suspected illegal drugs traffickers were arrested in separate areas in Central Luzon as part of the government intensified campaign against the so-called menace of society.
Azurin said that the suspects were on pot session when caught by surprised by operatives who narged inside the residence owned by Morales. They did not resist arrest.
PDEA operatives seized 25 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) with a street value of P120,000.00 and illegal drugs paraphernalia.
“We considered this a high impact operation,” said Azurin.
PDEA will remain as the lead agency in illegal drugs drive despite its limited resources and manpower capability.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) has resumed its operations against street pushers dubbed as Oplan Double Barrel and Oplan Tokhang after it was suspended due to alleged involvement by some members of the organization in irregularities.
The suspects were brought to PDEA detention cell as violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act is being readied against them.
