FA-50 ‘Fighting Eagle’

The Philippine Air Force (PAF) accepts delivery of the third batch of the 12 FA-50PH Fighter/Surface Attack/ Lead-in Fighters Trainer Aircraft (F/SA/LIFTA). PAF now has six jets in its inventory awaiting final delivery of the rest of the jets by the end of this year. The acquisition of the fighter jets is under the AFP Modernization Program to beef up the country’s territorial defense capabilities after the oldF-5 Freedom Fighter jets were retired in 2005. In hand to receive the jets are Major General Arnold A Mancita AFP, the Commander of Air Logistics Command of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) and PAF Commanding General, Lieutenant General Edgar R Fallorina.
