Through the “Serve More Love for the Elderly” project of SM Cares, employees of SM Olongapo spent a meaningful day with the elderly of Bahay Puso Apostolate Foundation in Balanga, Bataan.
This is part of the Employee Volunteerism Program(EVP) of SM Supermalls, through the Human Resources Department. SM mall employees across the country initiated a volunteerism project dubbed “Serve More Love for the Elderly” in celebration of Grandparents’ Day.
It focuses on the program of SM that demonstrates more care for the Elderly. It is a way of encouraging employees to demonstrate their social responsibility by engaging in socially beneficial activities.
Aside from spending a fun-filled day with the elderly, volunteers also shared their blessings through giving goods and food. The elders may not be so expressive of what they feel, but they still managed to say “thank you” to the volunteers.
Sharing one’s blessings make a positive difference in someone’s life.
The Bahay Puso Foundation is operated by the nuns, who take good care of the abandoned and neglected elders.
