SM Supports Brigada Eskwela 2017

SM Olongapo is gearing up for Brigada Eskwela this Saturday, May 20, 2017 in Gordon Heights II Elementary School. As part of the nationwide voluntary effort, SM will join once again the Department of Education(DepEd) in the week-long Brigada Eskwela from May 15-20, 2017.

The school maintenance effort engaged SM personnel and all education stakeholders to contribute their time, effort and resources in ensuring that public school facilities are prepared in time for the school opening. SM will repair, paint and clean the school surroundings to make it warm and inviting to students and teachers.

Just like the previous years, SM employees, agencies, affiliates and tenants participated and engaged in the school maintenance efforts to ensure the preparedness of public school facilities for the opening of classes. This activity is an annual volunteerism effort of SM through the HR Department under the SM Cares program. Aside from Olongapo, SM Pampanga, SM San Fernando Downtown and SM Clark are also joining in this noble activity.

The Brigada Eskwela program which runs from May 15-20 is an annual activity of DepEd in participation of teachers and school heads together with parents and the local community stakeholders in time for the opening of classes.

Based on records, Brigada Eskwela, launched in 2003 has generated support from the private and public sectors all over the country. While no cash donations are accepted, materials for cleaning, repair and beautification can be contributed.(PR-SMOL)
