SMFI holds 2nd Medical and Dental Mission in Tarlac

The 3rd Level Carpark of SM City Tarlac has been filled with smiles and gratefulness from more than thousands of beneficiaries as SM Foundation, Inc., the charitable arm of SM Group conducted its second Medical and Dental Mission Caravan, “Gamot Para sa Kapwa” on Thursday, October 5.

At the Dental Area: Our volunteers were busy setting up their instruments for the beneficiaries who would chose the tooth extraction service.

This was shortly after SMFI’s first medical and dental mission last August 3 of this year due to its success and bulk numbers of patients.

The 1061 beneficiaries were from the indigent families of the 17 target barangays in Tarlac City.

The beneficiaries for the 2nd healthcare initiative during their medical check-ups with our volunteer doctors.

Moreover there were a total of 29 volunteers from Tarlac Provincial Hospital, Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM) Camp Aquino Station Hospital, SM Foundation, Inc. and some were Barangay Health Workers.
The beneficiaries have patiently lined up to register for the 2nd SMFI Medical and Dental Mission Caravan.

Meanwhile, same healthcare services such as free medical check-up and tooth extraction plus lab tests like fasting blood sugar (FBS), cholesterol, uric acid and Xray were offered to the patients.

Also for the total healthcare of the beneficiaries, free doctors prescribed medicines were distributed to the beneficiaries immediately after the medical check-up, as part of the“ Gamot Para sa Kapwa” initiative, which was in partnership of SMFI with The Philippine Red Cross, Department of Health, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Kapwa Ko Mahal Ko Foundation and Watsons.

The said project was being held by SMFI in different SM mall branches nationwide, which aims to be true to its commitment to serve by empowering and reaching to the host communities and to spearhead more community-oriented activities.
