‘Sputnik’ man shot dead in Dinalupihan

DINALUPIHAN, Bataan – A member of the Sige-Sige Sputnik gang was shot dead along the Olongapo-Gapan Road on Thursday afternoon.

The Dinalupihan Municipal Police led by Police Supt. Donato Bait is currently conducting a follow-up operation and deeper investigation on the reported shooting incident that occurred around 4:20 p.m.

Supt. Bait said the crime transpired in the vicinity of Barangay Roosevelt here. He added the unidentified victim was wearing a blue long sleeves shirt, gray six pocket short pants, black cap, with Sputnik tattoo at his back, and with a height from 5’2” to 5’4”.

Witnesses said three unidentified gunmen on board a dark color compact-type vehicle, possibly a Toyota Wigo, dropped the victim along the road and suddenly shot him several times which caused his instantaneous death.

The vehicle fled towards Dinalupihan town proper.

Supt. Bait immediately responded and conducted checkpoints on possible escape routes. “We also requested for dragnet operation to Bataan PPO operation center, coordinated to Lubao TOC, coordinated to MBDA Command Center for review of all CCTV footages,” Bait said.

He also requested the Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) for follow-up operations, “Oplan Galugad” and personally conducted ocular inspection at the crime scene.
