Suspected ‘Termite Gang’ robbed P7M from Bataan mall

BALANGA CITY – Approximately P7 million worth of cash money and various gadgets were stolen from three major establishments inside a popular mall in this city.

Initial report gathered by this reporter from the local police here states that Core Pacific Money Exchange, Camella Homes Office and All Shoppe located inside the Vista Mall Bataan were ransacked by robbers and carted away large sums of money and various electronic appliance and gadgets.

The police led by Balanga Police chief, P/Supt. Byrone Allatog and employees doing the investigation inside the establishment discovered a hole in the floor and found a tunnel leading to a drainage canal system just several meters away from the crime scene.

Discovered from the crime scene were hydraulic jack, crowbar, rope and assorted wires.

Almost P1.6 million were stolen from the administration office of All Shoppe while more than P5 million cash in different currencies were carted away from the said money changer shop.

Police are still on the scene, as of press time, conducting thorough investigation whether the suspects could be members of the so-called termite or acetylene gangs because of their modus operandi of digging underground to break into establishments.
