‘Taiwan ice’, party drugs seized in Bulacan sting ops

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Some P100,000 worth of illegal drugs including liquid methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) also known as “Taiwan ice” have been seized by government anti-narcotics agents during a buy-bust in Meycauayan, Bulacan on Friday.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 3 (PDEA3) director Gil Pabilona said two alleged suppliers of party drugs were arrested during the operation. The suspects were Gerardo Panfilo Domingo, Jr., 29, of FlexiHomes, Rosario, Pasig and Edcel Canete, 20, of Lifehomes, Mangahan, Pasig.

Pabilona said the suspects did not resist arrest.

The PDEA3 director said the suspects are members of illegal drugs group operating in Metro Manila and Central Luzon and reportedly responsible for the widespread distribution of party drugs and “Taiwan ice” to prospective victims who are mostly students.

The group, Pabilona said, operates in areas where university and colleges are situated. “The modus is to invite students and teenagers to try party drugs and entice them to perform orgy since most of the gang clients are homosexuals.”

Pabilona said the party drugs specifically injectable liquid shabu have a sex stimulant component which gives extreme sexual arousal for people who are under the influence of this kind of illegal drugs.

Pabilona however warned the public on the dangerous effects to human health of “Taiwan ice”.

“Parents should watch their children especially young ladies and must keep reminding them about the dangers of these party drugs,” Pabilona said.

Confiscated from the suspects’ possession include 16 pieces of sachets carrying shabu, eight sachets of marijuana, three bottles of assorted party drugs, syringes and other drug paraphernalia.

Pabilona said the suspects are detained at the PDEA detention facility at Camp Olivas pending the filing of appropriate charges against them.
