The Tarlac Police Provincial Office (TPPO) has a new officer-in-charge in the person of Senior Supt. Westrimundo Obinque, replacing Senior Supt Alex Sintin.
The turnover ceremony was held Tuesday at the TPPO Park inside this camp, officiated by PRO3 newly designated officer-in-charge Chief Supt. Aaron Aquino.
At exactly two years, six months and five days, Sintin relinquished his post as Tarlac provincial director and finally bade goodbye to the command to assume a new post as senior police assistant to the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) secretary at Camp Crame, Quezon City.
Sintin, in his farewell message, reported that crime volume in the province made a remarkable decrease, particularly the drug related cases.
The command also received various awards and Sintin himself also bagged several awards, proving his efficiency in public service.
Obinque, for his part, said that it is a big challenge for him to assume post as new provincial director of Tarlac PPO.
With its present status, Obinque said he will just maintain and pursue where the command is going, adding that “you cannot rock the boat that runs smoothly.”
Obinque is a graduate of the Philippine Military Academy Batch ’92. He is a native of Labrador, Pangasinan.
Meanwhile, the PRO3 chief wished both Sintin and Obinque good luck in their new assignments.
He said that the Philippine National Police (PNP) is now gearing towards continuous battle against all forms of crime, particularly with the battle cry of President-elect Rodrigo Duterte to eliminate the menace of drugs at all costs.
Tarlac 3rd District Congressman Noel Villanueva, in his inspirational message, congratulated Sintin in his remarkable accomplishments as TPPO director and welcomed Obinque.
Villanueva said he is very supportive of the intensified campaign of the police against illegal drugs but all should be executed according to the rule of law so that no innocent person would be victimized.
Present during the occasion were some personalities to including former PNP director general Nicanor Bartolome , who flew from Davao to attend the event, together with his brother Tarlac Shooters Club president Els Bartolome, former PRO3 director Chief Supt Rudy Lacadin, former DILG Undersecretary Rico Puno, Tarlac and other police and local officials.
