Tarlac State University celebrates Women’s Month

TARLAC CITY — Tarlac State University (TSU) celebrates Women’s Month this March with activities meant to promote gender equality.

“This is an avenue where the Gender and Development Focal Point System would explain the objectives, theme and several ways to contribute in achieving the objectives of the national celebration,” TSU Center for Gender and Development Director Rita Pulmano said.

Among the activities lined up include Women Inspiring Women Forum; Zumba Party; Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy: The Science Behind the Rainbow; Serbisyo Para Kay Juana; and Photo and Poster-Making Contests.

Pulmano emphasized that an ordinary citizen can partake through promoting and practicing human rights not just by participating in the activities conducted by the local government units and government agencies.

“When a person shows respect to other people that’s already an involvement in the promotion of human rights,” she emphasized.

This year’s celebration carries the theme “We Make Change Work for Women.” (PIA 3)
