Teacher, 3 students nabbed in Calbayog drug den raid

CALBAYOG CITY — A government school teacher and five others, including three senior high school students, were arrested by lawmen following a raid at a suspected illegal drugs den in Barangay Dag-um here dawn Monday. 

Police Supt. Joie Pacito Yape, Jr., officer-in-charge of the Calbayog City police station, identified the suspects as Teofilo Jason Bueva Aclado, 35, teacher and resident of Road 7, Mira Flor Subdivision, Bgy. Dagum; Rolando Aclado, Jr., 20, Grade 7; Joselito Estrelles, 21, Grade 8, of Bgy. Hamorawon; and Alberto Emperado, 23, Grade 10, of Mira Flor Subdivision.

Others arrested were Rolando Aclado, 47, also resident of said place; and Junjun Daraman, 19, of Bgy. Hamorawon; both occupants of the warehouse being used as drug den.

Target of the sting operation, Yape said, is Aclado Jr., a suspected big-time street trafficker of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) and alleged distributor of illegal drugs in different areas in thic city and nearby areas in Samar province.

“We have busted a family of illegal drugs users and traffickers. The drug den is being run by the Aclado family,” said Yape over the phone.

Teofilo, the teacher, according to the police is included in the list of high value target personalities of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 8 (PDEA8). He was arrested in a previous drug buy bust and released on bail.
Yape asid the caretaker of the warehouse identified as Marlon Moriles, eluded arrest.

Seized from the suspects’ possession include a quantitative amount of shabu in sachets and cash believed to be proceeds of the illegal drugs trade and other paraphernalia.

The suspects were taken to the Calbayog City police station for further investigation as violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act is being readied against them.
