ABUCAY, Bataan – Former Bataan provincial board member and popular showbiz personality, Dexter “Teri Onor” Dominguez, led on Tuesday the groundbreaking of four school buildings in three different schools of this municipality.
Dominguez was joined by other local officials and representatives from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
The said event was for the construction of elementary classrooms under the Department of Education’s Calendar Year 2019 Basic Educational Facilities Fund (BEFF) for the Two Storey- Ten Classroom School Building, Tomas Pinpin Memorial Elem. School, Brgy. Gabon, Abucay Bataan; Two Storey- Ten Classroom School Building, Salian Elem. School, Brgy. Salian Abucay, Bataan; Two Storey- Four Classroom School Building, Bangkal Elem. School, Brgy. Bangkal, Abucay, Bataan and Two Storey- Four Classroom School Building, Bangkal Elem. School, Brgy. Bangkal Abucay, Bataan.
The BEFF is an annual budget of the Department for its School Building Program, which covers the improvement and maintenance of school facilities. The said projects were made possible thru the initiative and effort of ex-BM Dominguez.
“Maraming salamat po sa ating butihing Congresswoman Geraldine Romansa pag-gabay at pag-alalay sa akin sa mga proyektong ito para sa ating mga kabataan,” Bokal Teri, as he is fondly called by friends and supporters, posted on her Facebook account.
Dominguez also thanked school principals Miss Merly Tinao (TPMES), Miss Ana Liza Villasol Dominguez (Salian Elem. School), Mr. Leonard Malang (Bangkal Elem. School) for all their support.
Earlier of this year, BM Dominguez personally had a meeting with Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Dr. Leonor M. Briones and DepEd Undersecretary for Administration Alain Del. B. Pascua about the construction of additional school buildings for Bataan.
“Marami pa pong kasunod yan pati sa ibang towns ng first district (of Bataan),” Dominguez told newsmen.
In the pipeline, Dominguez added, are another school building projects for Abucay, Morong, Hermosa, Dinalupihan Orani and Samal towns.
