Thousands flock Labor Day Job and Business Fairs in CSF

Thousands of job seekers from Central Luzon attended the 2018 Labor Day Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan: Job and Business Fairs held at Robinsons Starmills, City of San Fernando.

The activity is conducted through the initiative of the Department of Labor and Employment Region 3, in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry, Provincial Government of Pampanga, City Government of San Fernando and ABS-CBN Pampanga.

DOLE Regional Director Ma. Zenaida Angara-Campita said around 40,000 local and overseas jobs from 46 participating companies were opened to job seekers not only from San Fernando but also from other neighboring towns and provinces.

Campita furthered that a total of six job fairs were simultaneously held in different provinces of the region yesterday in celebration of the 115th Labor Day.

“Actually lahat ng probinsya meron but this is the regional event na ginawa natin dahil ito naman ang sentro. Natutuwa kami dahil maganda ang suporta nila at pati ang mga workers natin ay interesado,” she added.

Meanwhile, DTI have also conducted a free business opportunity seminar and business counselling to those applicants who are interested to enter entrepreneurship and start their own businesses.

The fair also served as a venue for selected local Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to sell their products.

In his speech, Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago said the City Government continues to strengthen its ties; as well as actively supports the programs and advocacies of the DOLE and DTI which are geared towards the provision of jobs and livelihood to the citizenry.

“We do not stop in finding ways to attract more potential investors and entrepreneurs that will build more businesses and indeed benefit more numbers of Fernandinos and even residents from nearby towns as well. Sabi nga nila, kung saan may negosyo, doon din may trabaho,” he added.
