Pampanga Vice Governor Lilia Nanay Pineda presided over the mass swearing-in ceremony of 528 recently elected officials from 33 Barangays in Angeles City.
The event, held at the Royce Hotel & Casino in Clark Freeport Zone on November 16, with the theme: “Pamagsilbi Miki-Pusu Kareng Angeleños” marked the formal commencement of their elective terms following the successful Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) 2023.
Out of the 33 barangay chairmen or punong barangays, 19 are newly-elected and the rest are re-elected.
VG Pineda extended his congratulations while emphasizing the crucial role of trust in public service and the impact of barangay officials on local and national government programs.
Moreover, Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. emphasized in his welcome message that a public servant’s oath is a sincere commitment to serve and motivate, urging individuals to honor this pledge by dedicatedly working every day.
He highlighted the responsibility to tirelessly work for the betterment of the community, acknowledging the trust as a sign of leadership by example. Stressing the impact of their decisions on the future, he encouraged a steadfast commitment to serving constituents with integrity and transparency, viewing it as an opportunity to enact positive change.
Lazatin urged the barangay, SK officials to prioritize efficient garbage collection, and intensified drug free campaign in all barangays.
Additionally, elected SK members are set to undergo mandatory training for their roles and responsibilities.
Among the government officials who witnessed the mass oath taking Pampanga Governor Dennis Delta Pineda, 1D Pampanga Congressman Carmelo Jon Lazatin II, Vice Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting, SP members, DILG City Director Yvette Cosio, Mabalacat Mayor Cris Garbo, Magalang Mayor Malu Lacson and town councilor Norman Lacson.
