Widus foundation to donate P1.5M med supplies to Candaba hospital

Widus Foundation Inc., (WFI) will donate P1.5 million worth of various medicine, medical supplies, and hospital equipment to the Candaba Infirmary Hospital.

WFI will also donate medical supplies to three other rural health units through a memorandum of agreement forged Wednesday during the February “Talk Wid Us” with the Pampanga Press Club.

The MOA signed by WFI Executive Director Neki Liwanag and WFI Manager Ronnel Golimlim with Candaba Sangguniang Bayan Vice Chair on Health Carol Foz, aims to award Candaba as the first beneficiary of the foundation’s “Medical Equipment Donation and Supplies” (MEDS) flagship project.

“Caring for indigent families through convenient access to basic and quality health-care is one of our foundation’s core principle. Thus, creating MEDS. This program enables us to address the basic medical needs of the community by providing hospital equipment and supplies to resource-limited district infirmaries,” Golimlim said.

Describing the medical upgrade project as a “step towards achieving their dream for all”, Foz expressed her gratitude to the foundation’s tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to help enhance the quality of health-care in their community.

“We feel lucky that WFI choose Candaba as the first recipient of the MEDS project among all other hospitals in Pampanga. We are truly grateful for all the support and help they have generously given us,” Foz added.

Built in 2015, the Candaba Municipal Infirmary is a one-storey building with a 16-bed capacity unit equipped with standard medical equipment to effectively cater the basic health needs of Candabeños and nearby town residents.

By adopting Candaba Municipal Infirmary Hospital under the MEDS project as it undergoes expansion funded by the DOH, WFI and the Local Municipal Health Office of Candaba aims to qualify the infirmary to a Level 1 District Hospital by the end of the year.
