Pamintuan expressed thanks for the help of WMRI in recovery efforts after Pinatubo eruption and the establishment of Renal Care Center at the Ospital Ning Angeles. He also cited the naming of one wing of said hospital after WMRI founder Irene Auberlin.

Dr. Rey Franco, head of Cardiac Center of Ospital Ning Angeles (right) discusses the importance of harvested pacemakers to indigent patients in the Philippines with Dr. Kim Eagle, director of Cardiovascular Center at University of Michigan. Eagle is the brain behind the recycling of used pacemakers that could help save lives of thousands of heart patients all over the globe thru distribution by WMRI. Franco, a retired cardiologist and surgeon in the US has devoted time to helping sick and needy persons in the Philippines.
