Yokohama, East West hold medical mission

The Yokohama Tire Philippines Inc., in partnership with East West Healthcare, has provided health services to 246 patients during a medical mission conducted in Poblacion, Mabalacat City last week.

With only 25 percent of the barangay’s total population being employed, healthcare services is not attainable. The Yokohama management found an opportunity to extend medical mission in the said barangay as part of its corporate social responsibility.

During the medical mission, four stations were arranged in a half-day activity – registration, vital signs, consultation and medicine.

Snacks were given to beneficiaries while nurses were on deck to record patients’ vital signs specifically pulse rate and blood pressure. The doctors conducted general check-up on the beneficiaries.

The Yokohama engages its employees to volunteerism. A total of 27 Yokohama employees including the five Japanese officers have joined the medical mission. East West brought five doctors and a number of nurses.

The tire manufacturing company has been providing medical missions regularly for the past seven years since 2009, with two medical missions in a year, targeting the most vulnerable community in the province. (Press Release)
