Zambales confirms 2nd positive case of COVID-19

SUBIC BAY FREEPORT – The Zambales Provincial Health Office reported its second positive case of COVID-19.                                                                       

The second confirmed case is a 70-year old Filipino-American from Washington, USA, who resides in Cabangan,  Zambales. Patient was exposed to a COVID-19 while in the US. She arrived in the province on March 14, 2020 with symptoms of cough, colds and body malaise.                                       

Due to persistent symptoms she consulted at the Allied Care Experts Medical Center – Baypointe and was subsequently admitted on March 21, 2020. Samples for testing were collected on March 22, 2020 and results came out positive for COVID-19 on March 27, 2020. Patient is currently in stable  condition and will be tested anew on April 5, 2020.                                 



In a statement of SBMA Chairman and Administrator Atty. Amy T. Eisma said: “We are saddened to receive the news that a person under investigation (PUI) at the Baypointe Hospital  and Medical Center in the SBFZ has tested positive for COVID-19 infection, putting the record of confirmed cases in Zambales at 2 as of this moment.”

With the positive cases, Zambales residents were told to strictly observe home quarantine to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
