​​66 trainees complete CDC’s wig making training

CLARK FREEPORT— Sixty-six individuals completed the training on wig making under the auspices of the Skills Training and Employment Program for the Underprivileged Persons (STEP-UP) of the state-owned firm in cooperation with wig manufacturing firm here.

The trainees underwent a 30-day training program of Clark Development Corporation’s STEP-UP on Wig Making, in cooperation with Aderans Philippines, Inc. (API) and Starboard Manpower Services, Inc. (SMSI).

API is the manufacturer of world-class hairpieces and other related accessories inside the Freeport.

In his report to CDC President-CEO Noel F. Manankil, Assistant Vice President Rommel C. Narciso for External Affairs Division (EAD), said since the inception of the program in2015, there are 640 individuals that already benefitted from STEP-UP program.

Aside from free skills training, the trainees were given allowance of 75 percent of the minimum wage per day and a guarantee employment from the firm that supported the CDC’s STEP-UP.

Narciso said to take advantage the training given freely to them and work for the benefit of their future.

He also reminded them to be guided by the three Filipino traits– (3M’s Masipag, Matiyaga at Malasakit)—and to care for the company to where they will be employed.

Starboard Manpower Services Inc. President-CEO Manuel Gorobot encouraged the trainees to love their job as “it will be the source of income for their loved ones. He also said that the training program empowered and boosted their self-confidence.”

Also present during the awarding of completion to the trainees were Ma. Rose S. Mandap, CDC’s EADassistant manager, Joselito J. Romero, CDC’s Special Concern Division senior officer, Lycia D. Marzan of EAD, and Jodan S. Ramos, HR Officer of SMSI.
