​​CHI-SIGMA- IOTA PHI​ ​Nat’l Guidance Conference to focus on health, wellness

The 2017 National Guidance Conference and Workshops sponsored by CHI-SIGMA IOTA- IOTA PHI FOUNDATION set on May 10 to 12 at the ​University of Sto Tomas, Tanghalang Teresita Quirino ​will focus on behavioral health and wellness.

This was announced by Dr. Rosenda De Gracia, President of CSI-IOTA PHI, as she enjoined all counselors, life coaches, psychologists, and academic leaders nationwide to join the activity, which will be held ​in cooperation with the UST Graduate School and the Counseling and Career Center.

An international counseling academic professional honor society, CSI- IOTA PHIsaid the conference aims,among others,to advance the cause of wellness among guidance counselors, life coaches and behavior therapists and other participants.

Thus, it also aims to equip the participants with cutting edge strategies and skills in dealing with prevention and wellness issues and concerns, De Garcia said.

Professional speakers and resource persons will handle the conference topics and workshops which include: Positivity and Interpersonal ‘Wellness, Suicidal Ideation in the School Setting, Wellness Evidence Lifestyle and other Wellness Models, Dealing with Internet Addiction, Managing Depression, Suicidal Behavior and Self Harm, Dealing with Victims of Emotional and Psychological Trauma, Prevention Programming and Substance Abuse, Nutrition and Mental Health, Managing Pain the Human Systems Approach, Counseling Survivors of Natural Disaster, Relationships Therapy and Counseling, Individual Focused Stress Management Strategies, Healing of Hurts, and Laughter Yoga.
