​Mayor thanks BBI Foundation for ‘Tulong Dunong’ program​

Magalang Mayor Malu Paras Lacson over the week commended Bridges of Benevolent Initiatives Foundation Inc. (BBI) for giving scholarship grants to 97 student-recipients in the first district of Pampanga.

Dubbed as Tulong Dunong Scholarship program, Lacson during her speech thanked​ ​BBI​ ​President Dr. Ireneo Alvaro Jr. for giving deserving students to fulfill their dreams and uplift and living conditions.

“We thank the Bridges of Benevolent Initiatives Foundation Inc. (BBI) for being our partner in providing opportunities to our indigent cabalens who can not afford college education. We are so grateful to you for giving them a chance to have a better future. A child’s future is worth every sacrifice to pursue more from life,” Lacson said.

The mayor also thanked BBI Foundation for being their partner in their aspiration to have at​ ​least one college graduate in each Magaleño family​,​ which can really make a difference in their lives.

“On behalf of the people of Magalang please accept my heartfelt gratitude at maraming salamat sa patuloy na supporta at paglalaan ng pansin sa mga pangangailan ng mga Magaleño!” Lacson furthered.

The lady mayor also reminded scholars to thank the people who help them achieve their dreams.

Last Friday, BBI foundation led by Alvaro launched their ​T​ulong ​D​unong program granting full four-year college scholarship to scholars in the first district of Pampanga.

The first district comprise of Magalang, Mabalacat City and Angeles City.

The foundation’s goal is to act as the bridge and bring about change in the lives of the needy in poverty-stricken areas through its social services, entrepreneurial empowerment including disaster management programs.

BBI Foundation aims to provide opportunities for people to become self-reliant, independent, resilient and a productive members of the community in particular, and of society in general.

Awardees were mostly residents of the Cities of Angeles and Mabalacat, towns of Magalang and adjacent localities around the Freeport.

“All of our recipients demonstrate great potential in leading the next generation because they dream big, let us continue to Inspire these young minds and let them Believe that they will Achieve what they wish to accomplish,” Alvaro stressed.
