NEW CLARK CITY, Tarlac — About 1,000 government employees will benefit from the housing project at National Government Administrative Center (NGAC) of New Clark City (NCC).

“The Residences is an integral part of the government’s response to the vision of President Duterte to decentralize state offices in Metro Manila and solve the congestion problem in the capital,” MTD Philippines President Patrick Nicholas David said during Thursday’s symbolic topping-off ceremony.

“The project is significant for the government employees who will be the first occupants of NCC, the first smart and disaster-resilient city in the country. In the long run, an estimated 1.02 million residents are expected to populate New Clark City and 582,000 of these will belong to the city’s workforce,” David added.

“The Residences” is part of Phase1A of NGAC that is due for completion by August 31, 2019. It consists of two government office buildings with a total floor area of 28,000 sqm; and a 4.5 hectare leisure park with scenic greenery, walkways and bicycle lanes along a serene river.

NGAC will serve as the main mub of 30thSoutheast Asian Games this November with a 20,000 seater Athletics Stadium; 2,000 seater Aquatics Center; and an Athletes Village.
