1,357 Paniqui residents receive emergency employment from DOLE

TARLAC CITY — A total of 1,357 residents of Paniqui town who were displaced by typhoon “Ompong” benefitted from the emergency employment aid given by Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) under its Tulong Panghanap-buhay sa Ating Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) program.

“Beneficiaries were tasked to do clean-up activities which include de-clogging of canals, clearing of road debris and basic repair and maintenance of common public infrastructure,” DOLE Regional Director Zenaida Angara-Campita said.

“Each beneficiary received around Php 3,800 for cleaning, rehabilitating and beautifying their respective areas of responsibility for 10 days,” Angara-Campita added.

TUPAD is a community-based assistance program of DOLE that aims to provide emergency employment relief to displaced or marginalized workers.
