15 ‘Persons Deprived of Liberty’ in Paniqui completes ALS program

PANIQUI, Tarlac — A total of 15 Persons Deprived of Liberty at Paniqui Municipal Jail completed the Alternative Learning System (ALS) Program of Department of Education (DepEd).

“The beneficiaries took a 10-month adult learning process which prepared them for the assessment and examination needed to complete the program,” ALS Supervisor-In-Charge Rommel Reginaldo said.

“For this batch, 4 are elementary level completers while 11 are secondary level completers. To date, we have 55 graduates of the ALS program at Paniqui Municipal Jail,” Reginaldo added.

For his part, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Paniqui Municipal Jail Warden Senior Inspector Roy Rechago expressed his gratitude towards DepEd and the municipal government for their unwavering support to uplift and empower the lives of the Persons Deprived of Liberty.

He then urged the completers to take an active participation in creating a better and safer community.

“This is the result of your hard work and I hope when all of you return (to the outside world), you will wholeheartedly perform your responsibilities to your families and our community,” Rechago stressed.

In behalf of the graduates, ALS elementary and secondary completer Sherween Andres said the educational program had a great impact especially in realizing their purpose and dreams in life.

“We cannot have a better future without the help of ALS Program. With this, I realize that the role of education is very important in a person’s life because it is the key to have a better and brighter life,” Andres shared.
